Khukumoni foundation believes only quality education can uplift Bangladesh toward the progress in the social and economic sectors. But it requires ensuring quality education among the children throughout the city, slum, and remote arena. Since Bangladesh is a poor country that's why a large portion of children could not get proper education due to poverty. Khukumoni foundation took the initiative to provide free education by our volunteers to the children who are dropping out of school or are not able to continue study due to family crisis.
Description
Though Bangladesh has a majestic literacy rate still there exists a large number of children who are deprived of education. Deprived of education because they are caught up in crises, face extreme poverty, or are discriminated against because of their gender, or disability. As a result, they are missing out on education. Without a quality basic education, children are less likely to gain the cycle of poverty and may never have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Also, we follow an appropriate strategy towards education, so that each of our students leads to find an identity, and purpose in life, as they grow up gradually.
We work to ensure all children get the support and care they need before they start school and that they are able to read and write. We also work to ensure that schools are places where all children are safe and happy.
To increase attendance at our school generally, we provide free essentials and necessary components like books, pens, pencils, uniforms, etc. Besides this, Durig the time of periods we serve foods such as biscuits, banana, bread as tiffin to encourage them toward the study.
We believe every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. The journey started informally in 2015 with only 15 students sitting on the grass of Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhaka. After that, it started formally in 2016 at the railway slum in Kawran Bazar, Dhaka to ensuring quality education among underprivileged students. Gradually, Khukumoni expanded the light of education in several places across the city. To educate this underprivileged child, we are currently running five school branches where we teach hundreds of children around the Dhaka city.
