Description
The period from birth to about 36 months is crucial in early childhood development for stimulating positive cognitive development, unusually in settings where ill-health and undernutrition are normal. Breast-milk is an essential source of energy and nutrients in children aged 6–23 months. It contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria. It can afford half or more of a child’s energy demands between the ages of 6 and 12 months, and one-third of energy requires between 12 and 24 months. Children and adolescents who were breastfed as babies are less likely to be overweight or obese. Additionally, they make better on intelligence tests and have higher school attendance. Breastfeeding defends children when others become sick. During COVID-19 pandemic the precautions that a mother should follow : a) Wash your hands before breastfeeding b) Wear a mask if you are sick c) If you pump milk to make sure to carefully wash your pump in each time The transmission of the COVID-19 virus within breast milk and breastfeeding has not been identified. While breastfeeding, a mother should still execute proper hygiene measures, including wearing a medical mask if available, to diminish the possibility of droplets with COVID-19 being spread to her infant. But if a mother is not sick or infected, they can continue to breastfeed the process they usually would.
